After actor and director James Franco was called out for wearing a Time’s Up pin at the Golden Globe awards seeing he allegedly engaged in inappropriate and sexually explicit behavior, yet another actor has been recognized for his misconduct in a similar fashion. Aziz Ansari, mostly known for his comedic performances, was spotted wearing a Time’s Up pin at the Golden Globes as well. Ansari won Best Actor in a TV comedy or musical and when the woman who he allegedly harassed saw him displaying the pin on his clothing, she felt obligated to come forward. After all, the pin is a representation of those who support sexual harassment victims as well as the movement and shouldn’t be worn by those who are guilty of taking part in the act.

According to the woman’s statement, it was last year in September when he “would not take “no” for an answer when he took her back to his luxury Tribeca apartment and aggressively tried to have sex with her” [Source: Fox News]. The 23-year-old photographer claimed she escaped his apartment in tears and took an Uber home. She said she sent him a text message the following day expressing how displeased she was. But, every story does have two sides and Ansari’s version of what went down was much different.

According to Ansari, he and the woman exchanged numbers, texted back and forth, and eventually met up for a date.  After having dinner together, they went back to his place where they did, in fact, engage in sexual activity, however, it was consensual. The next day he received a message from the young woman saying that “although it may have seemed okay,” upon further reflection, she felt uncomfortable.” Ansari, a bit surprised by the woman’s reaction, “took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to process what she had said.”

But, the woman also explained that after they had arrived at his apartment after their date, he began kissing her and engaging in other sexual acts. He went to retrieve protection and that is when she told him to relax and chill for a second. But, when he returned, he continued kissing her and they continued on with the affairs. After the date, Ansari sent the woman a message where he said, “It was fun meeting you last night,” however, her response was “Last night might’ve been fun for you, but it wasn’t for me,” she responded. “You ignored clear non-verbal cues; you kept going with advances.” Those were just some of the messages babe.net was able to get their hands on.

The woman stated that after seeing Ansari receive his award at the Golden Globes and wearing the Time’s Up pin, she recollected back to their date and remembered the painful experience she went through. And that is what prompted her to come forward with her accusations. Now, whether this was just a case of a bad date or Ansari did, in fact, push past the limits the woman had set, that is yet to be determined until more details are revealed.
