New York, NY– Roger Ailes, the CEO of Fox News, quit last month after a former anchor, Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment suit against him. Now, today another woman has come forward to speak about being harassed by Ailes.

The latest allegations come from a powerful television producer, Shelly Ross, who met Ailes in 80s. In piece she wrote for Variety, Ross discusses her first meeting with Ailes, who asked her, “‘When did you first discover you were sexy?’” Ross wrote that she told him the conversation was “embarrassing.”

But Ailes didn’t stop harassing her, and it continued for a time until she spoke with network executives. She also said he insinuated that a “sexual alliance,” would make them more loyal in their working relationship. After a few complaints

Not only have several women come forward since Carlson file her lawsuit, but it was also discovered that Ailes used funds from the network to develop what he called a “Black Room.” The Daily Beast reports that a team of lawyers and private investigators were employed by Ailes to go after journalists who criticized him. The TV executive amassed volumes of smear material to go after people he didn’t like and attack them online. Ailes and his associates launched devastating public relations campaigns of his enemies, New York Magazine reports.

The women Ailes sexually harassed, which includes anchor Megyn Kelley who had a very public beef with Republican Nominee Donald Trump, did not come forward until years after they were initially harassed. Sadly, many women don’t report sexual harassment because they are afraid doing so would damage their careers, and that does happen, but its is better to report harassment and take a stand, or you are enabling the harasser.

It may be hard to come forward, and you may be afraid, but reporting sexual harassment is the smart thing to do. You may think you can handle it, but it will wear on you emotionally. And don’t fool yourself into thinking the harassment will stop, it won’t unless you come forward.

Don’t let sexual harassment go unaddressed. You may think it’s best to let it go and not do anything, but that could actually just make things worse and lead to more hostility in the workplace.
